The optimal ambient temperature is somewhere between 18°C and 21°C, but keeping it stable while conserving energy requires much more than a simple thermostat. Behind the scenes, advanced systems and robust software architectures ensure that pressure, flow, and heat distribution are perfectly coordinated. Sensors, data, and embedded software work together continuously, and you are the one who designs, structures, and optimizes these complex systems. You monitor the cohesion between components, make smart choices for integration and scalability, and ensure the architecture is ready for future innovations. As a senior, you lay the technical foundation for impactful and forward-thinking solutions.

The position

And the role? 

As a Senior Software Engineer, you are responsible for developing complex software components for innovative products and technology platforms. You lead the development of key components, ensure software is reliable, scalable, and maintainable, and integrates seamlessly with hardware, data platforms, AI models, and cloud environments.

You act as a mentor to colleagues, advise on architectural choices, and influence the technical direction of projects and the broader system. You work closely with software architects, product engineers, and hardware engineers, actively contributing to technical designs and innovation projects, and supporting prototypes and proof-of-concepts. Additionally, you improve team structures, development methods, tooling, and quality standards, document choices, and help continuously optimize development processes and best practices.

Candidate profile

You have a higher professional (HBO) or university (WO) degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field and possess strong technical knowledge. You have experience with programming languages such as Python and C/C++ and are familiar with software engineering principles and development methodologies. Furthermore, you have practical experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and enjoy working on embedded applications within an innovative environment.

You feel at home in a multidisciplinary team where you collaborate with software, hardware, and system engineers. You have a strong analytical mind and know how to solve complex problems in a structured way. With your affinity for R&D and industrial product development, you contribute to innovative solutions. You communicate clearly and work accurately, with a good command of the English language.

The offer

What do I get in return? 

A salary between € 85,000 and € 100,000 gross per year, depending on your knowledge and experience. Additionally, you receive 27 vacation days and 13 ADV days (basically just extra paid vacation days) on a full-time basis, with employment conditions according to the Metalektro CAO (collective labor agreement). You will receive a company laptop and phone and will have plenty of room to develop yourself and grow within an international, innovative organization.
