The position

You develop and lead the strategic direction and ensure it meets the needs of internal and external stakeholders. You are to ensure solid project delivery and operational performance as well as bringing the financial and commercial acumen to balance short term financial performance and longer term market share. You will be given the entrepreneurial freedom and accountability to lead the organisation through a rapid expansion in the Netherlands and Europe.

Candidate profile

• Mid-career entrepreneurial leader, with sufficient experience and gravitas to take on this broad role.
• Able to develop productive relationships with suppliers, customers, partners and government authorities.
• Have a compelling presence as the ‘face of the company’ with investors and other stakeholders.
• Strong people skills to give direction to the growth of the organisation, build a high performance team and deliver through others.
• Outgoing, energetic, curious and a natural leader able to build commitment.
• Strong personal values and able to establish a culture of openness, inclusion, integrity and performance.
• Master’s degree. MBA is seen as beneficial.
• Technical and/or commercial background.
• Well rooted in the (petro)chemical and/or energy industry, and experience in doing business with large players in these sectors.
• International experience.
• Thriving in an entrepreneurial environment.
• Track record that shows strong commercial and business development skills.
• Exposure to operations, external financing and investor relations.
• Proficient in the English language. A good command of Dutch and other European languages is beneficial.
• Residing in the Netherlands or willing to relocate.
