The position

Are you a driven and analytical Product Manager with a passion for innovation? Do you want to visit customers worldwide and play a key role in developing new products? Then this opportunity is for you!

As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for managing your product portfolio and leading new products and updates through the New Product Introduction (NPI) process. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer and a multidisciplinary team to define technical solutions based on customer needs. You will set the framework for how technical solutions should be delivered, ensuring alignment with customer requirements without directly handling the technical implementation yourself.

Tasks & responsibilities

What Will You Do?

  • Market Analysis & Innovation: Identify new product opportunities by analyzing market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities, and translate them into a strong business case
  • Stakeholder Management: Create buy-in from internal teams, including Innovation
  • Manufacturing, and Sales, and present roadmaps and business cases to management
  • Product Development: Oversee NPI projects, ensuring proper alignment with budgets timelines, and potential market impact while identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Customer Engagement: Visit customers worldwide (10-20% traveling annually) to understand their needs, collaborating with departments such as quality, maintenance, and production to gather insights.
  • Product Strategy: Decide when products need updates or phase-outs, substantiating decisions with data and market analysis.
  • Training & Support: Provide internal product training and ensure sales, service, and marketing teams have the necessary tools to drive product success.
  • Performance Tracking: Analyze NPI project data and present performance insights to management.

Candidate profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in food technology, mechanical engineering, or business management, preferably with a combination of technical insight and commercial drive
  • Experience: At least 4 years in a similar role within for example machinery, or the food industry and familiar with process optimization
  • Skills: Strong analytical ability, entrepreneurial mindset, and curiosity, with the ability to connect insights and develop strategic product roadmaps
  • Leadership: Ability to motivate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders in an international, cross-functional environment
  • Lean & Process Knowledge: Familiarity with NPI methodologies, modern production processes, and quality management systems within B2B (food) industries
  • Language: Fluent in English, Dutch is a plus
  • International Focus: Willingness to travel 10-20% of the time.
