The position

You will be working in a new company (scale-up), but under the wings of a multinational. You will develop and support the strategic sustainability direction and ensure it meets the needs of the internal organisation and external stakeholders. You are to ensure solid sustainability delivery and performance on KPI's. You will be given the entrepreneurial freedom and accountability to lead the organisation on sustainability on a global level from the Netherlands. The position has huge management attention, therefore you are highly visible. Essence is creating a feasibility roadmap on sustainability.

Candidate profile

• A mid-career leader with gravitas to take on this important and visible role.
• Experienced in the field of sustainability. Experience at a top tier strategy consulting firm is preferred.
• Having experience in a new business environment is an advantage.
• Strong program management skills, leading others throughout the organisation.
• Outgoing, energetic, analytical, curious and a natural leader.
• Clear and pragmatic approach/holistic view on sustainability in the industry.
• Thriving in an open culture. Adhering to collaboration rather than hierarchical direction. 
• Proficient in the English language. A good command of Dutch and other European languages is beneficial.
• Residing in the Rotterdam area or willing to relocate.
